Maybe you don’t have one of those World’s Strongest Man logs. That’s okay, because the swiss bar is the next best thing. Using a narrow grip, clean the bar up to your shoulders and then press it overhead. You can also take out the clean and simply curl the bar up and then press in the same motion.
Swiss Bar Clean and Press

Dave,
I’ve been eyeing the swiss bar and wanted to know, does the lack of revolving sleeves result in any pressure or pain in the wrists and elbows when doing cleans? I know this is supposed to simulate a strongman log (sorry, nevery used one) but I’m thinking of using this for power cleans also. Should I be concerned with lack of revolving sleeves?

@Jim,
I own one of these and have never notice an issue with the lack of rolling sleeves. In fact, the sleeves are actually a bit smaller than what is on a typical olympic bar, so the weights rotate easily and freely. One thing to note is that regular collars (like muscle clamps or the spring clamps) won’t work. To remedy that I just went to home depot and pick up some V-clamps (or whatever they are called) for like $6.
